Wythe-Bland Region Master Gardeners are volunteer educators within the communities of Wythe, Bland, Smyth, Carroll, Grayson and Pulaski counties and the city of Galax.  Extension Master Gardeners work to encourage and promote environmentally sound horticulture practices through sustainable landscape management education and training.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program is an educational program of the Virginia Cooperative Extension. This program is dedicated to working with the community to teach and promote environmentally sound horticulture practices through sustainable landscape management educational programs.

The Wythe-Bland Region Master Gardener Association falls under the Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program.  Extension Master Gardeners are trained educators helping home gardeners with unbiased, research based gardening information.

As an outreach component of the Wythe County Cooperative Extension, the Wythe-Bland Region Master Gardener program brings the resources of Virginia’s land-grant universities – Virginia Tech and Virginia State University – to the local community.  All volunteers are trained and have at least 50 hours of horticultural classes and return at least 50 hours of volunteer community service through their local Extension office.
